Silver Jewellery and Accessories Care
Silver is a soft metal and can easily be scratched if cleaned with harsh chemical cleaners. The copper content in sterling silver is what makes it oxidize so quickly when exposed to the air. To slow down this oxidizing (tarnishing) process, store your jewelry in a sealed plastic bag.
Use a polishing cloth to clean slightly tarnished silver jewellery. Polishing cloths are available in most supermarkets and jewelry shops. More tarnished silver jewellery can be cleaned with silver polishing paste.
To avoid removing the oxide from a silver product, paste should be applied moderately. Apply the polishing paste with a soft cloth and clean the jewellery. To prevent the paste from causing stains on clothing, rub the paste off and wash the jewellery with warm water and very mild detergent.
Silver Chain can also be cleaned as instruction above. When cleaning a piece of jewellery, avoid rubbing any precious stones near or around it.
We do not recommend silver polish liquid.
Silver-Plated jewellery finishes are made by electroplating a thin coating of silver over a base metal (usually copper, brass, iron, zinc or nickel). This process creates a finish that looks great, but isn’t as durable as its pure silver counterpart. Therefore, it’s important to take care when cleaning silver-plated jewellery so you don't remove this plated coating.
Plated-metals are best cleaned with warm soapy water.
Do not use any harsh chemical cleansers or abrasive cleansers on your silver-plated jewellery as these cleansers may cause the plating to chip or wear off.
Rinse fully after cleaning & dry completely before wearing or storing.
Silver-plated jewellery retains its shine for longer if kept in a sealed plastic bag when not in use.
Never soak silver-plated jewellery for extended periods of time; doing so may weaken the electroplating finish.
